Worn Threads: Exhibition 2016

The inspiration, for our third exhibition was a garment. It could be re-purposing a garment in some way, or referring to a photograph or other image of an actual garment.

The artists approached this challenge in diverse and exciting ways. Not only were the creative and textile skills superb but the stories associated with the garments are fascinating, amusing and moving. There were glimpses of social and historical themes from across the world and some deeply personal garments used or referred to - including an artist's own wedding dress.

The artists work was captivating with the innovative way they interpreted their inspirational garments.

Halfway between ... Exhibition 2014

Ask yourself 'Halfway between what?' and you may find yourself travelling in some very intriguing directions. This project began in September 2012 with a brainstorming session and the artists from the group took the idea in their own individual directions. We think the results were very varied and stimulating. Some were inspired by landscapes, nature and folk tales. Others have created very personal interpretations that were stimulated by thoughts halfway between fantasy and reality, between conflicts and between life and death.

More information about the start of the project here.

Shown at:
